Maize Export from India may be banned due to weak stock and high prices • 

 

•  According to sources, due to the market price of maize reaching Rs. 2,150/q. there is a lot of restlessness in the poultry industry and starch manufacturers. 

• The central government is considering banning the export of maize due to an increase in the price of maize by   starch manufacturers and its non-availability in the market. 

• Between 1-8 December, the price of maize was Rs. 2173/g, which is more than the minimum support price of Rs. 1962
