The government of India has reduced the customs duty on the import of raw materials of soybean and sunflower oil to zero due to the high price of edible oil.
The commodities put under the ban list include wheat, paddy (non-basmati), chana, mustard seeds and their derivatives, soya bean, crude palm oil and moong.
According to sources, due to the market price of maize reaching Rs. 2,150/q. there is a lot of restlessness in the poultry industry and starch manufacturers.
