January 2, 2023

The two-way trade at the Kerung/Rasuwagadhi border port has resumed.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the two-way trade at the Pulan/Yari port will be reopened in early 2023. More Nepali products will be exported to China.

7 cargo trucks loaded with Nepalese goods have gone to China through the port. According to the Chinese embassy in Nepal, China is waiting for more goods to be exported from Nepal.

Exports from Rasuwagadhi, the international trade point with China, have started after a long time. Exports have been stopped since before the infection of Covid-19, but exports have started after three years.

Narayan Prasad Bhandari, Chief Customs Officer of Rasuwa Customs, said that the Nepali goods kept in six Nepalese containers, including bamboo bundles, handicraft materials, especially copper handicraft materials, were sent in three Chinese vehicles.

Both border points reopened as per the promise given by Li Zhanshu, the speaker of the Chinese National People’s Congress, to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
